Minds Matter DC Welcomes L’Toya Jones as Our New Executive Director
We are delighted to welcome L’Toya Jones to Minds Matter DC as our new Executive Director!
L’Toya brings over a decade of experience and passion for educational equity to her new leadership role. She was most recently the Director of Programs at Minds Matter New York City (MMNYC), where she played a pivotal role in shaping and expanding programs that empower students to achieve their academic and personal goals.
A Commitment to Student Success
Before joining MMNYC, L’Toya served as the Director of Middle School Programming with the Harlem Educational Activities Fund. Her dedication to expanding access to high-quality educational resources has been a cornerstone of her career, ensuring that students, regardless of background, have the support they need to thrive.
L’Toya holds a B.A. in Social Science from New York University, equipping her with both the academic foundation and real-world experience to drive meaningful change in the education space.

• Scaling the organization’s impact to serve even more students across Washington, D.C.
• Fostering community partnerships to expand opportunities for students.
• Ensuring every student has access to the resources and support they need to succeed in high school and beyond.
